The Problem
The current challenge lies in providing individuals experiencing homelessness with a reliable solution to guarantee their successful integration into the local community. Therefore, for this case study, I created an app called HOME with the goal of eliminating the pressures associated with homelessness.
HOME is a user-friendly app with a mission to eradicate the challenges intertwined with homelessness. Born from a commitment to fostering positive change, HOME goes beyond conventional solutions by offering a platform that not only alleviates the immediate burdens but guides individuals on a journey towards successful integration into their local communities.
The Solution
Mobile app and compatible screens including the home page, map page, and wellbeing diary. This app is a was user-friendly engaging and accessible platform for users with visual, auditory, cognitive disabilities or any other disability by including a dark mode option. It also is a robust and functional app that complies with UX methodologies.
The Result
To ensure that my app is user-friendly and accessible, I dived deep into both primary and secondary research. This helped me understand what users really need and what they could do without. Collecting data was key because it allowed me to set clear and actionable goals and work towards the outcome I wanted to achieve.
I can say that the HOME app has achieved the goals set for this case study. It effectively caters to users of all ages and genders, creating an environment of support and offering a hassle free user experience. The captivating design of the map and wellbeing page adds an extra touch, ensuring users spend more time on the app.
One of the major hurdles I faced in this case study was choosing the right colours that not only suited the company's identity, but resonated with users. I played around with different shades of purple, making sure the psychology behind these colours aligned with how I envisioned the company being perceived.
All in all, this case study was great for me because I cared a lot about the topic, visual and branding process. Although, it’s been quite of a journey of discovery as I faced a few challenges along the way. Looking ahead, I’ll definitely incorporate the lessons learnt and work on being more efficient with my time.
I appreciate you taking the time to read through my journey of making HOME come to life!
